It was peaceful, in a beautiful area with lovely grounds.
“Lovely little cottage” 5 of 5 stars Reviewed April 28, 2014 Set in a beautiful location surrounded only by countryside, woods and a pond. Completely secluded and very peaceful. The owners were lovely and went above and beyond to make our stay perfect. The welcome hamper was full of amazing local produce, which was a great extra touch. Lovely walks in the lands, and even a pond to go rowing or swimming in! Loved our stay here, I would highly recommend this to anyone.
Cute as a button, this neat little barn has oodles of charm. A gorgeously romantic must for couples and avid walkers, sitting amidst the lush green woodland of the Blackdown Hills of East Devon and within easy reach of the beautiful Jurrasic coastline of Devon and Dorset. Small but perfectly formed, Wrens Nest is the perfect romantic bolthole, its high lofty ceilings, white washed walls and mezzanine bedroom creating light and space within this charming little hideaway. Outside a decked balcony, looks over leafy woodland and provides a private place to linger whilst enjoying a glass or two as the sun goes down. The uncluttered space has been arranged to provide a small yet sufficient area to prepare light meals, and whilst the property does not have a conventional oven, there is a twin hot plate and a Remoska Oven that is suitable for baking and frying. One of two eco friendly holiday cottages, the other cottages Swallows Nest, you have the option to wander through the shared gardens or curl up with a book beside one of the ponds where you can dip your toes or take the plunge and enjoy a little wild swimming! Positioned just over 5 minutes drive from the market town of Honiton where you will find a weekly street market and plenty of tea rooms, a selection of restaurants, pubs and three good supermarkets. Visit the town of Axminster just 8 miles and enjoy lunch at The River Cottage Canteen, and just twenty minutes will take you to the city of Exeter. Enjoy days out at the beach at Beer and Lyme Regis less than a half hours drive.
1 Bedroom Accommodation: Sleep 2 Open plan lounge/kitchen and dining area. Shower room. Balcony. Mezzanine First Floor with 5' zip and link bed available as 2.5" twin beds on request.
