Stunning accommodation in peaceful location. Very relaxing. Swallows Nest has everything you need for the stay and the grounds are lovely and picturesque. Owners are very welcoming and helpful. Fresh eggs from the farm hens a bonus- very tasty!
Loved our stay, would highly recommend! We arrived late on a Friday and were welcomed with a complimentary hamper of eggs, coffee, tea, locally produced jam, tomatoes. My 70 something mother stayed in the twin bedroom and me and my husband stayed in the king size bedroom at the other end of the cottage. The lounge was very spacious and the bedrooms and adjoining shower rooms were well equipped, luxurious and were a good size. The organic bed linen and towels were good quality. The owners John and Leslie were friendly and helpful. They gave us salad grown on the land and eggs hatched by their own chickens. The owners are keen on recycling and make this easy for you to do. The property is located in woodland down a farm track. If you like somewhere rural and quiet to stay then this is the ideal place for you. The grounds are beautiful, there is a pond and lovely gardens with plenty of places to sit and have a picnic, read a book or have a barbeque. The weather was lovely and sunny while we were there so this added to our enjoyment of the holiday. We drove out to Torquay and Beer for days out while we were there and had a day at the races at Newton Abbot. I loved this holiday as did my husband and mother and we would like to go back sometime soon. Highly recommend as a get away from it all holiday and get back to nature.

A luxury eco retreat tucked away within the lush green splendour of the Blackdown Hills in East Devon. Just 30 minutes from the Jurassic Coast and seaside towns of Seaton, Branscombe and Lyme Regis. Bright, airy and contemporary this simply chic holiday barn, is the epitome of modern luxury eco-living. A weekend sanctuary for recharging weary souls, or an inspiring outdoor break hiking in the hills or along the coastal footpath. Set ten minutes from the town of Honiton, the gateway to East Devon, you are perfectly placed here to explore the region. The town hosts weekly street markets and has a fine selection of independent shops, pubs, restaurants and supermarkets. Axminster, home of TV chef Hugh Fearnley Whittingstall's River Cottage Canteen and HQ, is just 11 miles and the city of Exeter just 20 minutes away. The cottage is tucked away down a private lane. An open plan layout with vaulted ceilings, oak beams, natural stone floors warmed by under-floor heating, and soft comfy sofas to cosy up to in front of the fire. The well equipped kitchen is stocked with eco products for your use and a large oak dining table in the centre of the room will display a wonderful welcome hamper brimming with organic and home grown goodies for your arrival. Both bedrooms have dreamy mattresses and are dressed in organic fine linen, the master with an en-suite double shower room and the twin with a separate double shower room. Enjoy the private patio area to the rear of the cottage, or wander through the owner's gardens and woodland where you can sit and enjoy a good book beside one of the lakes or even try a spot of wild swimming. (care must be taken with young children due to unfenced ponds).
