Doomsday Barn, as its name might suggest dates back many centuries, its humble beginnings as an agricultural barn transformed into a holiday home full of rustic style and character. Rich in tradition this unique area of Devon has much to offer with miles of countryside and bridleways to explore, The Two Moors Way, linking both Dartmoor and Exmoor National Parks can be joined nearby. Two miles from the village of Rackenford this central location is a gateway to both North and South Devon coasts with the market town of Tiverton a short drive and the cathedral city of Exeter within half and hour. Doomsday Barn stands amidst a handful of private cottages and adjacent to a livery where stabling for a horse can be arranged subject to availability. Enclosed by a gated access with private parking on a gravel area adjacent to an enclosed, lawned garden equipped with picnic benches and barbecue, visitors also have use of a paddock across the track, ideal for more enthusiastic ball games or exercising the dog first thing in the morning! Once over the threshold you will discover the charm of this historic building, lime rendered walls, vaulted ceilings and timber trusses evidence of its once former life. The versatile arrangement encompasses a light and airy, spacious open plan living area, the slate floors warmed by underfloor heating and a wood burning stove to ensure your complete comfort in cooler winter months. An attractive cream shaker kitchen with woodblock worktops is complimented by a full range of modern appliances included a gas range cooker. The lounge and dining area are attractively furnished and offer plenty of room to relax in comfort. Two bedrooms on the ground floor have use of a downstairs bathroom. Upstairs a mezzanine level equipped with TV is a useful space and can be used as a separate lounge or additional bedroom with double bed settee. This leads into an attractive master bedroom with kingsize bed and en-suite shower room. There are a number of pubs within a couple of miles, the Stag in at Rackenford within a mile and a half. The village also has a shop and post office. Parking for two cars or more is available immediately outside the barn.

3 Bedrooms Accommodation: Sleep 6 (2 additional guests can be accommodated on sofa bed, on request). Ground floor: Hallway. Open plan living room/diner, kitchen with wood burning stove and 36" TV. Bedroom 1 Double. Bedroom 2 Twin. Bathroom with bath, shower over and WC. First floor: Mezzanine lounge with 36" TV, Double sofa bed. Master bedroom with 5ft bed, en-suite shower room and WC. Other amenities: Ipod dock, dishwasher, fridge/freezer, two stair gates and barbecue. Bed linen and towels provided. Under floor and central heating. Dogs welcome at £25 each per week.
