We had a very comfortable stay in the cottage. It was well positioned for trips to many National Trust properties, as well as the beaches at Branscombe & Beer (short drive) and Woolacombe and Westward Ho! (longer drive). We particularly enjoyed spending a day at Skern Lodge (Appledore) doing fun outdoor activities - a return visit for mum after a school trip there 34 years ago! The tour of the stables was interesting and the kids loved seeing the horses go past the window many times each day. The local lanes were good for runners in the late afternoon (very little traffic) and the Parkrun at Killerton House was excellent.

Thank you for a lovely week here. The tour of the stables and gallops a big bonus for two horse mad 12 year olds!!! The cottage is lovely and very well kitted out. Hope to be back soon - many thanks

Kintyre Cottage is an exquisite, luxury three bedroom cottage, positioned on the edge of the Blackdown Hills in East Devon, just over thirty minutes from the Jurassic Coast and popular seaside resorts such as Beer, Branscombe and Lyme Regis. A haven for walkers, this stylish, dog friendly cottage offers understated luxury and will appeal to families or groups of friends looking for a countryside haven, to explore south and east Devon. Marvellously easy to access, less than 10 minutes drive from Collumpton and the M5, makes this a perfect choice for weekend break away. Set next door to the Millman racing stables, the location is blissfully peaceful. For horse lovers you can take a guided tour around the stables next door and the seven furlong gallops to the rear of the cottage are available for walks when not in use by the horses, that file past the cottage daily on their way to exercise. Walk through patio doors into the sumptuous living room, wood floors and soft leather sofas, inviting you to relax in supreme comfort. A glossy cream kitchen with granite work-tops is well-equipped with washing machine and dishwasher. There is a comfortable dining area to the far end of the room. Simple understated elegance is the theme throughout both twin rooms and the opulent, French renaissance style master bedroom, dressed in fine linens, is pure heaven. There is a stylish modern family bathroom on the first floor with separate bath for soaking away weary bones after long walks in the country, and separate shower cubicle. A further WC and double shower is on the ground floor. Explore Exmoor and Dartmoor National Parks, or the Jurassic coast, all within a half hour drive. Honiton, is just over five miles, and for younger children Crealy Adventure Park is within a half hour drive, as is the nearest beach at Exmouth. There is a country pub and village shops within a mile. You can park a couple of cars on the gravel driveway.
