“A secret escape” 5 of 5 starsReviewed September 30, 2015 The property is a delight in a wonderful setting and John and Helen couldn't have been more accommodating. They live in a detached property next door to the rental but left us to our devices. The cottage sleeps 6 adults comfortably in 2 doubles and 2 single beds. There is also a cot available. We travelled as seven and John & Helen very kindly agreed to us using a small blow-up bed for the youngest of our party (4 years old) and we brought our own bedding for that. There are 2 bathrooms (one upstairs and a downstairs shower room). The kitchen is fully fitted with absolutely everything you could need. There are even some basic condiments available, possibly from previous guests. The lounge area is a delight with board games, jigsaws, DVDs, full Sky tv package for rainy days. Outside, the property is situated in a small valley on a national trail, with bridleways everywhere. Helen and John have some animals and they kindly let the boys feed them. The only hairy moments were the narrow country lanes but we got used to that sooner than I thought. Nearby Dulverton has a lovely collection of local shops and further afield are all the things you associate with Devon. Lovely walks, beaches, coastlines. There is a wealth of literature also provided at the property. This place is a hidden gem. We thoroughly recommend it.

“The place that every keeps secret” 5 STARS Even though I was traveling with a broken arm we couldn't have chosen a better setting to enjoy the beautiful country side and superb accommodations. Everything that .needed was furnished from cookware to BBQ grills. The weather was perfect and our friends, who live close by, joined us for a marvelous holiday. Thanks again John and Helen!

Arriving at Dunsley Mill, visitors will be captivated by the peace and tranquillity of this sheltered valley. Surrounded by 30 acres the only sounds are the distant calls of owls and buzzards and the soothing trickle of water from the small river that runs through the grounds. A perfect rural retreat, visitors to this charismatic barn conversion find it difficult to leave, the visitors book is testament to this where guests note their eagerness to return year on year. Lovingly restored the barn is brimming with character and charm with restored timber beams, rich heritage colours and a large wood burning stove that nestles in the corner of the spacious open plan living room, where two large comfortable sofas will guarantee your supreme comfort and relaxation. Separated from the living room by a useful breakfast bar the spacious kitchen is fully equipped to meet guest's ever need and to one side a separate dining space will guarantee family gatherings are a real social occasion. Three charming bedrooms on the first floor are each dressed in delicate country fabrics, both double rooms enjoy wonderful views of the valley to the front of the barn. A family bathroom on the first floor and a shower room on the ground floor complete this uniquely wonderful property. In summer relax on the patio overlooking the valley, many find that this is the epitome of their holiday at this beautiful cottage. For those who can tear themselves away and wish to explore, the beautiful village of Dulverton in the heart of Exmoor has a great range of shops, pubs and restaurants and is just a ten minute car journey. Less than an hour will take you to the cathedral city of Exeter or north to the coastal beaches of Saunton Sands, Braunton, Wollacombe and Croyde. South Molton, just fifteen minutes away has a twice weekly market, fine butchers, chemist and a supermarket. There are some fine restaurants and pubs in the area where local produce is always on the menu, try the London Inn at Molland for mouth watering home cooked food, or for a special occasion the Michelin star The Masons Arms at Knowstone, serves real ale to champagne by the glass. The owners of Dunsley Mill are happy to arrange horse riding lessons, fishing and restaurant bookings for guests. There is plenty of parking next to the cottage.

3 Bedrooms - Sleeping up to 6 Adults One Step to entrance.Hallway. Shower Room with WC. Single step down to: Open Plan Living room with wood burning stove, 32" TV. Open plan Kitchen/Diner with breakfast bar. Flight of stairs to First Floor: Bedroom 1 Double with TV. Bedroom 2 Double. Bedroom 3 Twin. Bathroom with bath, hand shower and WC. Other amenities: Free Wireless Broadband, telephone, Sky TV full package, video, DVD, dishwasher, fridge/freezer, additional fridge, tumble dryer, bread maker, Gaggia espresso coffee maker, BBQ. Bed linen and towels provided. Oil Fired Central heating included. Dogs welcome at £25 each per week. There is off road parking for two cars on a level tarmac surface approx 2m from the entrance. It is possible to park directly outside to unload. There is a gravelled garden to the side of the property with level access from the property and furnished with patio table and chairs. A further decking area to the front is accessed from the tarmac via one step. Guest can use the surrounding meadows. The property offers accommodation over two floors and has a mixture of carpet, laminate, rugs and tiles. External doors are 84cm x 196cm. Internal doors are 75cm x 192cm. Kitchen work tops are of a standard height.
