Devon Christmas What's on guide 2016
With artisan stalls overflowing with Christmas fayre, streets and squares lit up with dancing lights and Christmas trees adorned with lights and baubles; festive tunes and carols being sung at every corner and the heady aroma of mulled wine wafting from cafe’s and restaurants, how could you fail not to be awash with Christmas spirit this year in Devon.
Devon truly is a wonderful place to spend Christmas, where the towns and cities transform themselves each year to winter wonderlands to ensure we all join in with the seasonal festivities. There are Christmas markets to tempt taste buds, Christmas fayres where Santa visits with his merry band of elves, and magical Christmas events to entertain the whole family.
For me it doesn’t get much better than a glass of mulled wine from a street stall whilst I listen to the local town band as they play their way through their festive repertoire, or the Christmas crooner, the Bing Crosby pretender who always sings the old classics outside Debenhams in Exeter each year – I could listen to him all day!
So, if you're looking for inspiration this festive season, whether you are Christmas shopping in Devon or looking for ideas for the Christmas and Boxing Day spread, or maybe you simply want to know what's on in a town near you over the Christmas holiday. Look no further, we have put together a town by town festive guide to what's on and when in Devon, all you have to do is turn up.
