Step out of your front door and just a few paces away, through a quiet, residential close will bring you onto the wild, open moorland of Dartmoor National Park. From here the green valleys, rivers and high Tors beckon to be explored whether it's on foot, two wheels or on horseback. For golfers, the moorland course is literally around the corner from Edgemoor, albeit you may need to share the green with a sheep or two. A region famous through literature and more recently film, the beautiful landscape of Dartmoor is peppered with pretty hamlets and traditional inns, that make welcome watering holes for weary hikers. Join Drakes Trail in Tavistock, a 21 mile, traffic free route, that takes in some of the most beautiful and inspiring scenery in the county. A gentle 20 minute stroll from the property will take you into the centre of the market town of Tavistock, where a visit to the daily pannier market will allow you to sample some of the best local produce available. The town boasts a vast array of independent shops, tea rooms, cafes and award-winning restaurants and is always busy with events happening across the year. For days out, visit Plymouth and stroll around the famous Barbican or enjoy a picnic on the Hoe. Visit one of the many National Trust sites close by, including Buckland Abbey, Castle Drogo, Cotehele House and Gardens and Lanhydrock House.

A light and airy lounge/diner with gas fire for added cosiness leads into a very well equipped kitchen/breakfast room. The garage offers ample, secure storage for bikes and walking equipment and parking for two cars is on the driveway. Tavistock Golf Club, 5 minutes walk away, welcomes visitors to its course and the club facilities, including a bar and restaurant serving excellent food, are available to guests at Edgemoor without the need to join as temporary members.
