Falmouth is also home to two sandy beaches; Gyllyngvase which is one of six with blue flag status in Cornwall and Swanpool, both of which have a good cafe/restaurant.
Just a mile further west is a larger beach at Maenporth.
Pleasure boat trips depart daily from the town quay taking in the hidden creeks of the Carrick Roads or across to the pretty village of St Mawes on the Roseland Peninsula; a delightful spot to enjoy a drink or meal in one of the waterfront hotels.
Hidden from view, Seabien is in a charming residential street just a few minutes' walk from the town centre; a sloping driveway and flight of steps lead down to the entrance.
