Rich in tradition, where farmers markets and country inns offer some of the finest homegrown produce that Devon is so famous for. The village of Bradworthy is 1/4 mile walking distance of Brook cottage and has everything you could need including a small supermarket, butcher, post office and the all important village pub, that has a great reputation for good food and local ale. Nearby the towns of Holsworthy, Kilkhampton have a variety of shops and larger supermarkets including a Waitrose, and there is a weekly market every Wednesday at Holsworthy..
The beautiful Tamar Lakes are just a 10 minute drive, perfect for walkers and cyclist and there is a cycle track suitable for pushchairs that will take you on a circular walk around the lake. Also on offer is a variety of watersports for the more energetic! The beautiful sandy beaches of Bude are just 11 miles away, perfect for families with children, surfing or simply enjoying coastal walks. In the summer, a trip to Bude's famous seawater pool is a must for the whole family.
A modern barn conversion with many green credentials to reduce its carbon footprint, Brook Cottage is securely positioned within the grounds of the owner's own bed and breakfast property, where they offer dog friendly accommodation throughout the year. You will be greeted on arrival by "Honey" the owner's friendly, larger than life Newfoundland dog, who is delightful and eager to meet all new visitors and their dogs.
Arranged over one level, Brook cottage enjoys a light and airy living space with a glazed patio door with level entry and exit to the rear where a fenced private sunny paved patio is furnished with table and chairs. A large wet room offers the convenience for those in a wheel chair and there are two bedrooms one with a 6' zip and link bed, and both with their own TV/DVD's.
Guests are free to wander through two acres of meadowland and lakes that are gated for the safety of dogs and children.There is a picnic area overlooking the lakes, care must be taken with young children who must be accompanied at all times. An outdoor day kennel is available and can be booked through the owner during your stay.
