This is the perfect destination for countryside lovers to discover, where the leisurely pace of life will entice you to stroll along country lanes, enjoy summer picnics in fields or immerse yourself, browsing around interesting market stalls in the nearby town of Tavistock. A spacious barn conversion with reverse level arrangement to take full advantage of the countryside views, The Old Shippon is situated on the edge of the pretty village of Lamerton just three miles from the market town of Tavistock. Positioned within the grounds of the owners small holding, this Devon holiday cottage occupies a private position with large level enclosed south facing garden overlooking paddocks and fields of peacefully grazing sheep. Three attractively furnished bedrooms on the ground floor benefit from two en-suite shower rooms and a separate bathroom. Stairs lead to the spacious open plan living space on the first floor with far reaching views of the surrounding countryside. A sizeable fitted kitchen with large AEG oven and halogen hob, is positioned at the far end of the room with central dining table and lounge, comfortably furnished with suede & leather settees. The barn is within ten minutes walking distance to the nearby village pub the Blacksmith Arms serving great food and 'real ales' and a little further on Tavistock, just 3 miles drive has an excellent choice of pubs, bistros and restaurants. This beautiful area can easily be explored on foot with the windswept slopes of Dartmoor right on the doorstep. A day trip to the beaches of south Devon and Cornwall can be reached within an hours drive, as is the historic city of Plymouth with its Hoe, Barbican and National Marine Aquarium. The Old Shippon has parking for 3 cars.
