Property Description
Overlooking a leafy woodland, Wrens Nest is an immensely appealing destination to couples seeking a slower pace of life and time to unwind. Set in 30 acres of lush green woodlands on Heart Ridge in the Blackdown Hills of East Devon, an Area of Natural Outstanding Beauty. Peaceful footpaths crisscross the countryside around the nearby historical villages of Luppit and Upottery. One of two eco friendly holiday cottages Swallows Nest and enjoying its own blissfully private outlook, Wrens Nest is a beautifully restored open plan barn. Small but perfectly formed, high lofty ceilings and white washed walls create a light and airy ambience, with light flooding through from the glazed patio doors and windows at the far end. A particularly appealing feature is the bedroom on a mezzanine floor, accessed by a spiral staircase where guests can lie and enjoy the view through the glazed patio doors below. A private decked balcony couldn't offer a more private and secluded spot to linger and gaze at the peaceful wooded valley beneath. The uncluttered space has been arranged to provide a small yet sufficient area to prepare light meals, with a sleek glossy white built in unit containing an electical Remoska Oven suitable for roasting, baking and frying, a microwave, two ringed hob and fridge. A two seater futon to relax after meals and a neat dining room table complete the minimalistic furnishing, there is a shower room off the lounge. This super Devon holiday cottage offers flexible stays of two nights or more throughout the year with prices for weekly stays advertised and stays of two nights at £70 per night or £40 for single occupancy.
